QUICK HITS: AVENGERS: ENGAME ENCORE (9/25/26)

THE STORY: If you've somehow missed the biggest superhero film of all time since it's release in 2019 – can you believe it's been that long?! – AVENGERS: ENDGAME ENCORE tells the story of how Eartth's Mightiest Superheroes forge a hail mary plan to try to bring back half the universe from the Mad Titan, Thanos. What ensues is a three hour, six minute journey that is packed with action, emotion and ... A new ending that sets up this December's AVENGERS: DOOMSDAY.

THE REVIEW: The film was already a classic, so re-watching on the big screen will likely not only bring back all the feelings audiences had during their first excursion. The big question, however, is it worth to pay to return to the theater for four minutes of footage at the end of the film and throughout the credits to get ready for Dec. 18.

If you are a die-hard Marvel fan, the answer is (most likely) yes. Otherwise, you can simply read the spoilers online (just not here).

While sitting through three hours to watch four new minutes may be a big ask for some, the Russo Brothers make the footage relevant and intriguing for the Marvel Cinematic Universe's next big villain and the state of the multiverse as a whole. In doing so, it also brings in ties to its Disney+ series, keeping everything connected better than most – a.k.a. the DC Universe pre-James Gunn – ever did. While the new footage doesn't give away too much, it does make a prominent "this is how we're getting here" notion, ending with a clever tie to the film that started the MCU in the first place. 

So, if you don't see AVENGERS: ENDGAME ENCORE, you won't be doomed ... But you may be a little confused on why Doomday is definitely coming.
